Likes στο Facebook ΚΑΙ Followers σε Twitter/InstagramWell, basically this can be done and you may come across it as a "product" on the internet, but in any case...

Just, NO.

The situations that may lead you to this search are generally known: You have a Facebook page to promote your work but your competitors have thousands of Likes while you only have a few hundred... And/or you want to show to some prospective client that your page is quite "known" so that they should take you more seriously if they are going to do business with you... And/or you work for an employer who wants plenty of likes on their social media pages without any special budget...

In any case, I understand the temptation, especially when the solution comes so "easy", by giving only a few dollars/euros. However, as you would probably know or suspect, buying likes on social media is a pretty bad move for you and your page in the long run. Let's see the main reasons:

  • Facebook uses EdgeRank, an algorithm which "ranks" you based on how "attractive" your page content is. The logic is simple: The more people like, comment or share your posts, in other words the more they interact with your posts, the more Facebook promotes you because it "understands" that your content is interesting. But by buying likes you can be sure that this rating will plummet, since the user accounts that will like your page will not interact with your posts, since they will not even be real users (some, of course, they will rush to sell you the fairy tale that the Likes you will buy from them are from real users, of course charging a lot more money, but if you believe them you are worth your luck).

  • What impression would a page with 200,000 Likes but with only 5-6 users liking its posts daily give you? Would you consider it trustworthy? Would you be inspired to Like it, too? By buying likes/followers on social media you are not only harming your image in relation to EdgeRank, but also in relation to prospective clients who, judging by this status, will probably think that you have nothing interesting to share.

  • As a rule, people who like your page are people who are at least a little interested in the content you share and by extension the products/services you provide. This, combined with the fact that you can have detailed statistics and demographic information about them, allows you not only to be able to evaluate the characteristics and needs of your target group, but also to make targeted advertising campaigns using this information. By buying Likes you very simply distort this "sample", since fake users are a completely random sample, irrelevant to what you are looking for. Therefore, an altered audience will not only alter your statistics and make any future advertising unimaginably difficult (in other words, you will need to spend more money on less successful campaigns) but also if you decide at some point to do some cleaning (manually deleting user Likes that don't concern you, like the Likes you bought) it will be a really difficult and time-consuming process.

The "icing on the cake": Once in a while, social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter decide to do a strong cleanup by deleting accounts that - after applying several criteria - are judged to be fake. In fact, this is how several "famous" profiles are deeply impacted, like Justin Bieber's on Instagram, who lost 3.5 million followers after a recent cleanup! Okay, sure you'd lose a lot less Likes or Followers, but still... would you bear this humiliation? How easy would it be to bounce back after this blow to your brand's image?

Once again, the value of patience and perseverance is highlighted, in the face of "easy ways" and cunning practices. Of course, the more users who follow you or interact with your content, the better for your image, but those users don't come easily. You have to sweat to get them, starting with your content which should be authentic, valid and above all attractive. You could also perform a series of advertising campaigns on social media and especially on Facebook, in order to increase the appeal of your content and, by extension, the interaction of users with it. The ways in which you can achieve this practically constitute a whole science that goes by names like Web Marketing, Social Media Marketing, etc.

So if you have to invest in something, you should definitely invest in professionals who will show you how you can generate more interaction (from how you will write your content to what time you will post it on Facebook and in what way) and how get more customers - or just people who will follow you and be happy to promote you by sharing your content.
